Dear Advisory Committee Members:

My name is Harley Parker. I was drawn to Senior Project after speaking with a former student who took the class and enjoyed it. I have gone to Reynoldsburg City Schools all my life, and they do not have fun and different English classes. Senior Project seemed like it would be a fun, interesting class to take. For my product, I intend to volunteer at the Veteran Affairs Ambulatory Care Center for a total of 35 hours and document my experience and service through a scrapbook and a Movie Maker presentation containing photos, documents, and mementos of my time volunteering.

I will research careers in a hospital. In order to make my product, I will need to know the basic positions and roles in a hospital. Also, I will need to know the history behind the modern hospital. Additionally, I will need to interview people who currently work in and run a hospital to learn what they encounter on a day-to-day basis. I will also need to research what requirements and education is typically required in order to work in a medical career.

I chose this product and research topic for several reasons. The main reason I chose this product and topic is because this is what I want to do for a career. I would love to work in a hospital. This project will hopefully help me narrow my field down and guide my career choice. Also, this project is a mini- test run for my career choice. It is better to decide that a specific career is not right for you in high school than in medical school. I also chose this product because I believe in serving those who served the nation. My father is in the National Guard so service means a lot to me. This project is my way of giving back to those who have given so much already to protect our country.

I understand the definition of plagiarism and its consequences. I do not intend to plagiarize.

 Sincerely,

Harley Parker
